ReplyDeleteSammy died last sunday sa katipunan. I decided not to keep him cooped up in the townhouse after we came home from Melbourne. He was going on a steady decline anyway, even with the meds and the special food, so I brought him back there to spend his last days in a familiar place. I guess I killed him slowly, in a way.
No, I'm not getting another cat. I don't relish having to agonize all over again about pet care issues. I don't feel good about not having brought him to the vet, perhaps to live out his last days comfortably, but I couldn't have laid out a fortune to do that.
Can't go through it again. Maybe it's good that I never got married. Maybe I'd also let my kids kick the bucket. I'm a monster.
